Latest news about world-famous personalities twitter accounts have been hacked by the largest cybersecurity attack. As a result of this cybersecurity attack, more than fifteen Twitter accounts were compromised, which included verified and non-verified accounts.
Verified individual and company accounts included Apple Inc, Amazon Inc founder, and CEO Jeff Bezos Profile, Microsoft Cooperation Founder Bill Gates Profile, Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s Profile, US President Barack Obama, and Democratic Presidential Candidate Joe Biden.
Some other twitter hacked accounts include:
- Berkshire Hathaway Chairman Warren Buffett
- Former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg
- Famous Musician Kanye West
- Uber Corporate Offical Account
- Musician Wiz Khalifa
- Kim Kardashian ( TV star )
- Cash App Company Account
Surprisingly, Attackers used all these profiles to tweet and asked bitcoin payment send to their bitcoin address. They were promised for double payback of the amount sent. After some investigation, twitter announced that it was a coordinated social engineering attack that exploited by Twitter employee’s access to internal tools and systems.
After the attack, Twitter’s official support account tweeted:
We detected what we believe to be a coordinated social engineering attack by people who successfully targeted some of our employees with access to internal systems and tools. We know they used this access to take control of many highly-visible (including verified) accounts and Tweets on their behalf.
CEO Twitter Jack Dorsey also explained by his tweet, that how was a terrible and tough time for his team on this social media giant.

As a result of this attack, Twitter shares were down by 3% in trading. Luckily, this attack is not much dangerous as Cybersecurity Firm Social Proof Security CEO Rachel Tobac:
