On April 7th, Huawei, the Chinese technology giant, unveiled the Mate X3: their newest foldable phone, boasting a double-rotation hinge design to ensure extra-durable performance. No details on its international availability have yet been released.
Design & Display
Huawei Mate X3 offers an OLED LTPO 7.8-inch foldable screen that boasts a 2496 x 2224 pixel resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, along with up to 300 Hz touch sampling rate.
Featuring a Kunlun glass layer for increased strength, the exterior 6.4-inch OLED screen presents a resolution of 2504 x 1080 pixels, along with a 120Hz refresh rate and P3 wide color gamut. A punch hole can be seen in the upper-right corner of the inner display, while the protective screen is distinguished by its centered punch hole.
Internals & Software
The Huawei Mate X3 features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus chipset and 12 GB of RAM while running on HarmonyOS 3.1 and providing a side-facing fingerprint scanner. An upgraded Collector Edition provides even more storage, with a whopping 1 TB of storage and an extended 5,060 mAh battery.
Cameras
The Mate X3 houses a rear-facing triple camera unit with a 50MP main camera, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 13MP periscope zoom camera with OIS support. On the front and inside, the device has 8MP selfie cameras.
Battery & Pricing
A generous 4,800 mAh battery powers the device and allows for an impressive 66W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 7.5W reverse wireless charging.
Huawei Mate X3 models come in two sizes, with 256GB costing 12,999 Yuan ($1,900) and 512GB being 13,999 Yuan ($2,050). A special Collector Edition of the Mate X3 is also available at 15,999 Yuan ($2,340).
