The Karcher Window Vac WV 6 Premium is an excellent device for routinely cleaning windows, screens, and other flat surfaces. It charges in no time and it’s delightful watching the battery level increase over time. Nevertheless, for occasional domestic use, it would be more beneficial to employ a spray bottle and microfibre cloth since the build-up of limescale on the shower screen and layers of greasy fingerprints on the windows presented a tough obstacle.
REVIEW
Karcher’s top-of-the-line Window Vac WV 6 Premium utilizes cutting-edge technology to produce a sparkling, spotless finish on glass, mirrors, tiles, and more.
I extensively tested the Karcher Window Vac, the same way I do with all the best vacuum cleaners and cordless vacuums. This included evaluating the setup process, its user-friendliness, battery life, and ultimately, how effective it is in cleaning.
For the past three weeks, I have been using the Karcher Window Vac WV 6 Premium in my house. This has allowed me to keep windows, tiles, and shower screens looking spotless. Although, I have noticed better results on surfaces that are consistently cleaned. The battery life has lasted a considerable amount of time, and the waste container has rarely needed to be emptied.
This package is quite extensive and comes with a rapid charger, a deluxe spray bottle, and a microfibre wiping cloth. Furthermore, a window cleaning solution (20ml) and a microfibre wiping cloth for outdoor use, along with an interchangeable suction nozzle and dirt scraper, are provided. Though, in my view, this may be an overload of items. In terms of setup, the instructions are vague, so one must rely on their own understanding of the product and its pieces to get it up and running.
To apply the window cleaner concentrate to surfaces, a spray bottle is required. While the window vac works great on less hard-to-remove dirt and residue, it may not be effective in cases where a lot of grime and limescale have accumulated.
After testing the Karcher Window Vac WV 6 Premium on my windows, bathroom tiles, and shower screen, I was thrilled to uncover the remarkable results.

DESIGN
- A wireless handheld device is an invaluable tool for everyday use.
- A blade that can be removed from its handle is available for purchase.
- A bottle designed specifically to hold and dispense a spray solution.
The Karcher Window Vac WV 6 Premium is a lightweight, cordless, handheld vacuum made for getting rid of water and marks from even surfaces. It only weighs 0.8kg and its dimensions of 126 x 280 x 310mm (l x w x h) makes it comfortable and convenient to use.
Featuring two interchangeable squeegee heads of 18cm and 28cm respectively, this product is equipped with a new lip technology that enables upper-edge cleaning right down to the ground without disruption, thus giving you a perfectly spotless finish. Once you are done with it, simply detach the suction nozzle to clean the heads.
The water tank contains up to 150ml of dirty water and is easily removable for emptying. You don’t need to empty it frequently since it takes some time for the water to become dirty.
To lift the dirt from the surface, use a separate spray bottle containing window cleaner concentrate. For more effective cleaning, affix a microfiber cloth head above the spray nozzle and activate the trigger. It is essential to securely fasten the trigger to the bottle to prevent any unwanted leakage.
The Karcher Window Vac’s battery is integrated into the unit, so the whole appliance needs to be plugged in for charging. Its LED display is especially useful, as it allows you to track the amount of charge the device has obtained and consumed on a minute-by-minute basis.
PERFORMANCE
I anticipated the Karcher Window Vac WV 6 to do an exceptional job in cleaning my windows, which reach up to the high ceilings in my ancient home.
Not only will this Karcher provide an immaculate window clean, but it can also make mirrors, tiles, and shower screens gleam again.
In order to begin my cleaning process, I had to configure the window vac. It was my first time using this appliance and the instructions in the box weren’t very helpful; instead of explicit written steps, I had to make do with a double-sided A3 sheet of rudimentary illustrations. Despite the inadequate information, I managed to get the Karcher Window Vac working. However, the experience would have been much simpler with better guidance.
Upon receiving the battery with only six minutes of energy, I quickly plugged in the appliance to charge. This brief process took only a few hours and I monitored the battery gauge, increasing steadily minute by minute. After it rose to a capacity of 100 minutes, we were able to clean up to 300m2 in one charge.
After mixing the cleaning solution into the spray bottle with 150ml of water, my inaugural task with the Karcher Window Vac WV 6 Premium was to spruce up the three-window bay in my front room.
This window, newly installed about six months ago, hadn’t been washed since. It had clearly accumulated grime, with dust and smudges – primarily from fingerprints and handprints – marring its largest, central pane.
After dousing the window in cleaning solution, I used the Karcher window vac to scrub it. To cover a greater amount of area at a quicker rate, I switched from the small to the large squeegee head.
The wastewater tank sucked in the liquid, but it also overflowed out of the window pane despite its lip technology, designed to provide a spotless result. The amount of dirt that I had initially overlooked was made apparent when the squeegee smudged the more visible debris on the other window panes. I took care of this by wiping the blade with a paper towel.
After that, I utilized the Karcher Window Vac WV 6 Premium to clean the tiles in our bathroom. These tiles filled up the majority of the wall behind the bath/shower. I reside in an area where there is a considerable amount of hard water which will lead to the buildup of limescale if it is not properly cleaned. Frankly, I hadn’t given the tiles a thorough clean in some time, so the Karcher certainly had its work cut out for it.
I was amazed by the results – I didn’t have to continuously spray the area and the squeegee effectively wiped away all of the diluted concentrated cleaners, leaving a gleaming finish without any visible watermarks.
Inspired by the results of my bathroom tiling project, I decided to take on the neglected shower screen. Although a squeegee is kept near the tiles for post-shower use, it’s not utilized frequently, resulting in an accumulation of limescale on the screen.
Initially, I directed the cleaning solution at the corners and edges of the shower screen that were difficult to access. Once I switched on the window vac, I saw the dirt gradually disappear as I moved up and down.
Areas with a high buildup of limescale required extra effort. I reapplied the spray multiple times and followed it up with a window vac until I was content with the results, though it wasn’t able to fully eradicate the problem.
Featuring a single on/off switch, the Karcher Window Vac WV 6 Premium operates with an unchanging speed and consequently, a steady noise level of 73dB – approximately the same as inside an automobile.
It’s wise to clean the blades either after every usage or when the blade has acquired a buildup of dirt during a cleaning session. A paper towel is ideal for the job, but alternatively, a quick rinse under running water should suffice.
The capacity of the murky tank is 150ml, so filling it takes some time. To empty it, simply unfasten it. After you’re done, a brief rinsing under a running tap will ensure that your Karcher machine is in perfect condition for its next use.
BATTERY-LIFE
- 100 minutes of runtime
- Takes 170 minutes to fully recharge
- Minute-by-minute LED display
Before utilizing the Karcher Window Vac WV 6 Premium, it must be fully charged due to the short 6 minutes of battery life it arrives with. This means plugging in the entirety of the unit since the battery is not removable.
As the battery charges, you can view its progress through the LED display. At 100%, the Karcher will have enough power to clean up to 300m2 without interruption. It is just as helpful when cleaning, providing information about the battery life remaining.
HOW I TESTED THE KARCHER WINDOW VAC WV 6 PREMIUM
Over the span of three weeks, I tested the Karcher Window Vac on my windows, shower screen, and tiles. Results varied, but it seemed to be most successful at removing the limescale buildup from my bathroom tiles.
The Karcher Window Vac WV 6 Premium was new to me, but I ultimately decided to continue using traditional window cleaner and a microfiber cloth to clean my home’s glass surfaces.
